Can doges eat tomatoes ?

Can my dog eat tomatoes? The long and short of that answer is no. And here is why: Tomatoes contain the alkanoid tomatine. As the fruit ripens the tomatine is metabolized thus giving way to its color. The adverse reactions that dogs have to this alkanoid are as follows – lethargy, drooling, difficulty in breathing, constipation, and vomiting. This essentially means that yes; the consumption of tomatoes is bad for your dog. Tomatoes also contain atropine that is highly concentrated in green tomatoes. It causes dilated pupils, tremors, and heart arrhythmias. So the next time that you have an issue of a dog eating a tomato, watch out for the following symptoms.

Where are you getting your information? I’ve read in multiple places that tomatoes are okay, but only when ripe. Tomatoes that are still green are harmful. I also read corn wasn’t great to give to dogs. Maybe in small amounts, but never more than that.
